New Era for ITRA Referees!
ITRA rewards our Tag Referees with match expenses for Refereeing in our Leagues and weekend Festivals / Blitzes.
As well as getting money; ITRA Referees receive an Alive Outside polo shirt, whistle and Red/Yellow score card holder.

Expenses Details for 2011
The following is our Expenses Structure for qualified ITRA Referees for; Alive Outside Summer, Autumn & Winter Tag Leagues 2011.
One "Match" is 45 mins long (2 x 20 min halves and 5 min half-time break)
You are also required to mark your tag pitch with cones before Round 1 and collect the cones from your tag pitch if you are refereeing the last round of matches at your venue.
ITRA ‘Rookie’ Beginner Tag Referees:
(This expenses structure is for Referees in their first season of ITRA TAG RUGBY, regardless of previous Sports officiating / playing experience / unofficial Tag leagues).
- 1 match / night = €8
- 2 matches / night = €18
- 3 matches / night = €30
- 4 matches / night = €44
ITRA Experienced Tag Referees:
(This expense structure is for Experienced ITRA Referees who have at least one or more seasons of ITRA TAG RUGBY, regardless of previous Sports officiating / playing experience / unofficial Tag leagues).
- 1 match / night = €9
- 2 matches / night = €22
- 3 matches / night = €36
- 4 matches / night = €50
Alive Outside Beach Tag / Tag Festivals:
- Referees receive €50 expenses for the afternoon (this includes local transport up to 20km’s, and providing there is no overnight stay).
- If Referees have to travel longer distances &/or require overnight accommodation. Referees do not receive expenses; but get:
- Shared transport assistance / fuel allowance
- Accommodation B&B for Fri & Sat depending
- Sat evening dinner post event
- €30 allowance (food + 'refreshments')
How We Pay You:
In order to receive your match expenses, ITRA will use Bank of Ireland online to transfer your ‘match expenses’ into your personal bank account. When you sign up to become a member of the ITRA Referee Team, you will be asked to give your banking details (Bank Name, a/c #, sort code).
Please give accurate banking details on this form together with your most used contact details (i.e. – Email + Mob). Remember your username, will automatically be your Email. You can change your password when you get your Referee Confirmation Email.
When We Pay You:
ITRA will transfer money into your personal bank a/c at the end of each Tag Season (a season being; Spring / Summer etc). If however you would like an earlier payment of your expenses; ITRA will make a maximum of 2 lodgements; the 1st lodgement will be half way through the season (e.g. week 5 out of a 9 week Summer League) and the 2nd lodgement will be at the end, the week after the season has finished (i.e. week 10). If you require 2 expense payments, you must contact peadar.niland@tagrugby.ie directly, or we will simply pay you at the end of each season.
How to Monitor Your Total Matches and Expenses:

The ITRA Referee Department has to manage 200+ Referees on a daily/weekly basis. It is up to each individual Tag Referee to know where and when you are assigned to Referee!
You can now login to your personal referee a/c and check Referee Assignments specifically for you. If you are in any way unsure, pick up the phone and call us.
Our new online system will show you exactly where you are refereeing every week and how much expenses you are owed. It is up to you to monitor this and keep your own records. If you do have any discrepancies with our online records, you must contact us immediately, so that we can cross check. Every ITRA Referee has 5 working days to report any discrepancies so that they may be resolved quickly.

Please regularly keep in touch with the ITRA Referee Department by logging into your own ITRA Referee Account and daily checking Emails and SMS messages topping up credit if you have a pay-as- -you-go mobile phone.

Please do not hesitate to contact Kats in the Ref Dept between 9am – 5pm, Mon – Fri. As most tag matches kick off from 19:00 onwards... it is very important you do not leave it last minute to cancel.
