Why Play with ITRA
Since ITRA brought Tag Rugby to Ireland back in 2000, we have tried each year to improve the game and make it more enjoyable for everyone involved: players, spectators, referees and venue managers.
2011 is the start of a new era for Tag Rugby in Ireland. We have been working hard on ways to improve the whole tag experience and have conducted an extensive amount of market research with teams all over the country, identifying the major issues you had with the game.
Below are the latest improvements we have made, which we feel will greatly enhance your experience of playing Tag Rugby with us.
ITRA - THE PIONEERS OF TAG RUGBY!
1. Individual Player Payments
No longer have you to put the full team cost on your laster or credit card and wait for team mates to pay you back their share. Now after paying a deposit, you get a link which you can email onto your team mates. They can then log onto the team account, and pay off their portion of the registration fee. You can now sit back and watch the outstanding balance reduce with the previous hassle of chasing people for money!
2. Better Team Grading
Totally restructured. You now just register for a venue and day - you no longer choose your grade. Over the first few weeks, you play a number of short games to determine your standard. Your results in these games determines the "grade" you play at for the remainder of the competition, where you play against teams at your level. This should reduce hugely the number of mismatches and will lead to much fairer and more enjoyable competition for everyone.
3. More Local Interaction
Each venue now has its own individual home page, where you will be able to view photos, videos and news stories from your venue. You can also easily find out about the social activities, including party nights, table quizzes etc that we are running in your venue – information specific and relevant to you.
4. Rewarding Loyalty
To reward all the teams who play tag rugby with us throughout the year, we have introduced a new loyalty point system whereby your team accumulates points for each ITRA event you register for. These points can then be used to get cash discounts off other ITRA events your team signs up for, including Beach Tag Series, Autumn & Winter Leagues etc. Think of it like a Tesco Clubcard for ITRA!
5. Referee Tracking & Payment
Refs can now log into their own account, view when they’re next refereeing, track how much they are owed and keep a record of past payments.
6. €99 to Secure Your Team Place
You can now secure your team place in any League by paying a deposit of just €99, and taking advantage of our new Individual Payments service. No more large tag rugby bills at the start of the year!
7. Summer Leagues of 6, 9 & 11 Weeks
We have Summer Leagues that last 6, 9 and 11 weeks this year in Dublin so there is bound to be one that suits you and your team mates. And with some leagues starting in May and others not until the end of June, you can find a league that doesn't interfere with your summer holiday plans!!!
8. Brand New Customer-Friendly Website
We've been working on this new website for over 4 months - and hopefully you find it much easier to navigate around and find what you are looking for than our old site!
9. Leagues 5 nights a Week from €4 per Player
You can now choose to play Tag Rugby in Dublin on any weekday night during the summer. With new "Monday Madness" and "Fun Friday Frenzy" Tag Nights and venues from just over €4 per person per night, you can get your fill of Tag Rugby this summer at the best ever prices!
10. Unique New Way to Find a Team
Whether you are on your own or with a small group of friends, we can get you on a team playing Tag Rugby this year! We have created a number of teams in every city, which you as an individual, can sign directly up onto. Once there are 10 people confirmed, we will circulate the contact details of the rest of the team to you and you can all arrange to meet up before your first game for some training...or maybe a pint!
