Working for ITRA

If you have an interest in Sports Administration or Event Management, why not get some experience by signing up to work with ITRA.

If you like organising and running events, venue managing during our Tag Rugby seasons could be just the role for you! On the other hand, if you want some extra exercise, and make money at the same time, you may decide to sign up to become a referee and officiate at our tournaments.

In both cases, you may be invited to become part of our Events Team who travel the country working at our Festivals and Blitzes. So, as well as getting crucial experience, you will be able to earn money, while having lots of fun and meeting loads of interesting new people!

With full training provided in both cases, working with ITRA could be just the platform you need to start a career working full-time in sport!

For more information on either role, call us on 01 2020100 or email info@tagrugby.ie.

VENUE MANAGERS

We are continually looking for new Venue Managers to work part-time in the summer months in the following Irish venues:

  • Dublin
  • Galway
  • Cork
  • Limerick
  • Naas
  • Ennis

Each Venue Manager will run a venue on a specific weekday night for 9 weeks from mid May to end of July  from 18:30 to 22:00 (specific to venue). The role also requires one hour administration. In total the VM will work an estimated 4½ hours each week. (Candidates are advised to be flexible about the nights and venues they can work in.) The VM is also required to attend the All Ireland Finals in Dublin.

The successful applicants for these part-time positions should have an interest in sport and some experience in event management and/or sports administration. They will be very organised and work well under pressure, as well as being outgoing and social. You do not need any rugby background

Job specifications include:

  • Marking and laying out pitches
  • Greeting and registering each team when they arrive at the venue
  • Responsibility for smooth, punctual running of matches each night
  • Dealing with up to 500+ players and their first aid issues, complaints, rules and regulation queries etc
  • Arranging referee documentation before & after each match
  • Inputting results, news stories, photos on ITRA website by 12pm the following morning

Internet access is required and own mode of transport is highly preferable. Full training will be provided.

For those interested, please email a cover letter and a copy of your CV before the end of March to Aidan Walsh, General Manager at
aidan.walsh@tagrugby.ie. Positions are allocated at start of April so get your CV in early to have a better chance!

REFEREES

If you want some extra exercise, and make money at the same time, you may decide to sign up to become a referee and officiate at our tournaments. Some of our refs describe refereeing Tag Rugby as "the gym that pays you to attend"!

You get paid for the more matches you do - so the greater your flexibility regarding venue and day, the more games we are likely to have for you! We always need extra refs on Thursday nights in particular so if you are available on Thursdays, you are extra valuable to us!

You may also be invited to become part of our Events Team who travel the country working at our Festivals and Blitzes. So,
as well as getting crucial experience, you will be able to save some money, while having lots of fun and meeting loads of interesting new people.
