In recent months, Team Ireland and the Irish Tag Rugby Association (ITRA) have been engaged in a process to appoint coaching teams to Ireland's representative tag rugby squads.

This process involved an open call for expressions of interest leading to interviews with a panel featuring independent sports experts. The panel met with candidates in recent weeks and made its recommendations for appointment to the ITRA. These recommendations have been reviewed and accepted.

We are delighted to announce that the following coaching teams have been appointed to Team Ireland squads for the 2019 British & Irish Cup:

Men's Open: Felix Ross
Men's 28s: Matt Kennerson
Women's Open: Mike Storey
Women's 25s: Jen Moore & James Mountjoy
Mixed Open: Shane Landers
Mixed Senior: Alex Mullin & David Hayes

Felix Ross has been further appointed as Team Ireland's first Director of Tag Rugby and will oversee the development of the elite game and coaching setup in the years leading up to the 2021 ITF Tag World Cup in Limerick. The appointment of a vastly experienced coaching squad is the first step on the road to the first ever tag world cup in the Northern Hemisphere and we wish the teams all the best in their preparations.

Team Ireland and the ITRA wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all those involved in the process.
