Venue Managers

If you have an interest in Sports Administration or Event Management and like organising and running events, then working as a Venue Manager during our Tag seasons could be just the role for you!

Each Venue Manager runs a specific venue on a weekday night for the duration of the league. Match start times are dependent on the venue but usually run between 18:30 and 22:00 so the Venue Manager will need to be there early to set up and late to tidy/lock up.

A great Venue Manager has an interest in sport & fitness, is very organised and works well under pressure, as well as being outgoing and social. While you do not need to have any experience in playing Tag, you should be familiar with how our leagues operate.

Job specifications include:

  • Setup of venue, including overseeing Referees marking Tag pitches
  • Greeting and registering each team when they arrive at the venue
  • Responsibility for smooth, punctual running of matches each night
  • Dealing with up to 500+ players and their complaints, rules and regulation queries etc.
  • First aid in case of accidents or injuries
  • Arranging referee documentation before & after each match
  • Inputting results website by midnight. Can be done on-site via smart phone
  • Taking photos of teams each week and sending on to Social Media Manager.
  • Interaction with venue players via Twitter
  • Full Training is provided!

The more flexible you are about the nights and venues you can work, the better. Wednesday and Thursdays are our busiest nights so we employ almost 100% of our new VMs on these evenings - so if you cannot do Wed or Thurs, we probably won't have a role for you!

It is a huge advantage to have a car, as it allows you to bring tag equipment (balls, cones, tags etc) to the venue each night.

We are continually looking for new Venue Managers to work part-time for us in the following locations:

  • Dublin
  • Cork
  • Limerick
  • Naas
  • Galway

You may also be invited to join our Events Team who travel the country working at our Festivals and Blitzes, including Pig ‘n’ Porter in Limerick, and Banna Beach Tag in Kerry. As well as learning how to run a One Day Tag Blitz, you earn money and travel to beautiful parts of Ireland, all while having lots of fun and meeting loads of interesting new people! is part of Alive Outside, Ireland's largest outdoor sports company so there are also opportunities to get involved in the organisation and planning of the other part of the business, HELL & BACK.
