- Dublin Tag Fest marks ITRA's 25th Birthday
2024 Tag Fest caught the good weather ITRA is delighted to announce the return of Dublin Tag Fest for its third year – and this time, it's extra special as we celebrate our 25th birthday! 🎉 Tag Fest takes place on Saturday 12th July - once that morning's Lions tour game has ended. We’ve got space for 50 teams to join us for a full day of tag rugby, DJ sets, and unforgettable afters – all taking place on the stunning grounds of Terenure RFC and Terenure College . Here are the grades available for 2025: Mixed Social (click to register) – For teams of up to 14 players, this is our most popular grade, perfect for those looking to play at a relaxed, friendly, and fun standard. Mixed Premiership – An elite All-Ireland competition for existing Mixed Premiership teams ready to battle it out at the top level. Mixed Novice – Designed for teams who play purely for the craic, and want to face off against like-minded tag lovers. Men’s Masters – For men aged 35+ who’ve still “got it” (and want to prove it on the pitch!). The event runs from 12pm to 5pm on both grass and astro pitches, with the Premiership competition kicking off slightly later in the day. Fuel up and wind down: We’ll have food vendors on site throughout the day to keep everyone fed and happy, and the club bar at Terenure RFC will be open to host us for post-match drinks and celebrations.

- 2025 B&I Cup to be held in Nottingham
The Irish Tag Rugby Association & Try Tag Rugby are delighted to announce that the 2025 British & Irish Cup will be held at the University of Nottingham on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th August. The University of Nottingham recently hosted the 2024 Touch World Cup, and is well known for its exceptional facilities. Accommodation for players, referees and coaches is available on-site and will be organised in due course. Each of Men's Open, Senior and Masters, Women's Open, Senior and Masters, Mixed Open and Mixed Senior will play five tests against their equivalent British side with two tests per team played on Saturday and three on Sunday. Women’s 22s, Men’s 22s and Men’s 50s will each play three tests on Saturday. Format Changes Great Britain Tag Rugby and Irish Tag have agreed that all 11 categories should count toward the awarding of the overall British & Irish Cup. However, with so many categories being contested and the standard varying between some of those categories, the decision has been made to adopt a points based system for awarding the British & Irish Cup going forward: All three Opens and all three Seniors categories are worth three points to the nation winning one of the six categories. This is to reflect the standard of play seen in these categories as well as the historical importance of the categories, all of them having been contested since the second British & Irish Cup Both Masters categories are worth two points to the nation winning one of the two categories. This is to reflect that these categories are newer to the tournament but are still playing five tests over two days Women’s and Men’s 22s and Men’s 50s are worth one point to the nation winning one of the three categories. This is to reflect the fact that these are the newest categories to be included in the tournament and that they are only playing three tests on one day This points system will be reviewed after the 2025 tournament in order to ensure it is fit for purpose and provides fair and meaningful competition for all categories The nation with the most competition points at the end of the conclusion of the tournament will be declared the winner of the British & Irish Cup If a category is drawn its points shall be split equally between both nations If the tournament ends with both nations on equal points, the winning nation shall be the one that has won the most three point categories. If the two nations are still level then the winning nation shall be the one that has won the most two point categories and then the most one point categories. If the two nations are still level then the winning nation shall be the one with the superior points difference across all categories.
