Basics of Tag Rugby
Tag Rugby is a non-contact form of rugby played in mixed, men’s, or women’s teams. At a social level, tag is primarily played as a 7-a-side mixed game. There is no tackling, no scrums, rucks, or mauls. Play is stopped by removing a tag from the ball carrier. The ball carrier must restart play immediately after a tag is made. Making a tag
A tag is made by cleanly removing one tag from the ball carrier’s tag shorts. The tags are attached with velcro, positioned near each hip. The defender must hold the tag and return it immediately After a tag, the ball carrier must stop, place the ball on the ground, and roll it backwards to their team-mates to restart the game. After 6 tags, the other team gets possession.
