ELITE TAG RUGBY
Play for fun, but take it a bit more seriously!
While the bulk of tag rugby is played for fun, there are more competitive aspects to it too. If you're a player looking to try a more competitive aspect of tag, find out more below about the various options available to you!
International Tag Federation
ITRA operates elite tag rugby pathways as a fulfilment of its membership of the International Tag Federation (ITF).

The ITF was conceptualised in 2009. Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, Ireland and South Africa saw a need to form an organisation that would promote and administer the game Internationally.

The goal of the ITF is to assist developing countries in growing the game of Tag / Oztag with the goal of getting their players to enjoy the game and to compete at Internationally sanctioned events.

The ITF was formalised at a conference held in Cape Town, South Africa early in 2017. The ITF has hosted four official Tag World Cup events. The most recent being held in Limerick, Ireland, in August 2023.
