Irishtown Stadium is one of our longest-serving tag venues, and is popular for its early kick-off times and proximity to Dublin City Centre. In the summer months and year-round on Thursdays, it is a popular social venue for corporate teams based in the area.
ABOUT THE VENUE
Irishtown Stadium is right next to the C1 and C2 bus routes, and practically equidistant from Grand Canal Dock and Lansdowne Road DART stations. The venue is around 15 mins by foot from The Point on the Red Line Luas. There is ample car and bike parking at the venue.
Teams playing in Irishtown typically frequent the Merry Cobbler, a modern classic within 3 mins walk of the pitches, run by a tag rugby player and serving great food. Teams typically pop in after tag to watch Champions and Europa League games.
The venue boasts a modern, high-quality 4G synthetic astroturf pitch suitable for year-round usage. You can play on this surface in runners or with moulded studs. Metal studs are not permitted. Showers and changing facilities are available.
In Summer months (May to September) the venue is highly suitable for beginner and corporate-level teams and individuals. During the winter and spring months the Tuesday league is highly competitive, while the Thursday league is a more accommodating social league.
We play in Irishtown on Tuesdays and Thursdays all year round, with kick-offs at 18:20 and 19:05. This typically suits people living and working in and around the city. Spring leagues begin on 26th March (Tuesday) and 4th April (Thursday)
