Following on from the massive success of State of Origin 2022, the inaugural event, we are going BIGGER in 2024. This event pits teams representing Munster and teams representing Leinster for the title of Ireland's top tag province.

This year's event takes place in Portloaise RFC - the perfect meet-in-the-middle event for teams travelling from Dublin, Limerick, and Cork.
​
The overall winner of State of Origin is the province with the most points - simple as. Everyone will play at least three longer games against a team representing the other province and earn points for a win or draw. At the end of it all, a winner will be celebrated and the party can begin!
EVENT DETAILS
There are three ways to play State of Origin:

SIGN UP AS AN INDIVIDUAL
Individual sign-up is the best way to play State of Origin, as it allows us to put together teams based on your experience level and ensure even competition levels. Individual sign-up will be on the basis of your self-assessed level. You will be grouped into teams of maximum 12 players (7M/5F) to ensure plenty of game-time.

Munster A Grade / Leinster A Grade (experienced players regularly playing Prem/Div1 Tag)

Munster B Grade / Leinster B Grade (social tag players)

Munster Novice Grade / Leinster Novice Grade (just here for the party and don't play any Prem/Div1 tag)

SIGN UP AS A TEAM
If you're really certain your team is all of the same level, you can sign up as a team to represent either Munster or Leinster. You'll be pitted against other teams and teams of individuals at the same level.

INVITATIONAL TEAMS
Following the great success in 2022, "Invitational" teams will be assembled and coached by Ireland's top tag coaches. As the name suggests, these teams are subject to selection!

The below designs are the official OES designs for State of Origin 2024. You can pre-order them up to Wednesday 6th March for guaranteed delivery in time for the event.
​
The kits are not mandatory unless you are playing on the invitational teams, but they're very popular and when by most participants.

EVENT FAQS
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PLAY FOR WHICH PROVINCE?
Your State of Origin is the tag region you are from, or where you started playing, or where you regularly play tag. If you played in 2022, you must play for the same province again. If your province isn't represented, choose the one with which you have the strongest emotional ties!

WHAT TIME DOES IT START?
The event kicks off at 11am and finishes at 4pm.
