2026 Events Calendar Launched




The Irish Tag Rugby Association is delighted to launch our events calendar for 2026. It features some staples, some new ideas, and new venues - but with the same emphasis on enjoying yourself!

Super Saturday

Date: Saturday 14th March

Location: Monkstown RFC / Pembroke Cricket Club

Format: Individual sign-up, mixed social event


Register as an individual and get drafted onto a team representing one of the six nations teams. You’ll play 5 x 25-min games in Six Nations format and finish well in time to watch the Ireland v Scotland game in the clubhouse bar.





Girls Just Wanna Play Tag

Date: Saturday 16th May

Location: Lansdowne FC’s Claremont pitches, Sandymount

Format: Women’s Social and Mixed Social tournaments


Celebrate the historic Ireland v Scotland Women’s Six Nations clash in the Aviva on Sunday 17th May with a women’s+-focused tag blitz in partnership with Lansdowne FC. Expect optional skills coaching, a social tag competition, an afters event previewing and celebrating the occasion, and some special guests! Teams are limited to a maximum of 12 players.





Corporate Tag Cup

Date: Friday 5th June

Location: Pembroke Wanderers Hockey

Format: Social tournament for workplace teams with 


The Corporate Cup is intended for teams of people who work together - whether in a business, school, government department, or otherwise. The important thing is that you're all employed by the same person, so that the competition maintains its spirit and intention!  The competition begins at 6.30pm and will feature a minimum of 5 games per team, and will end at roughly 9pm in order to facilitate some time networking in the bar.




Pig N Porter

Date: Saturday 13th June

Location: Old Crescent RFC

Format: Large-scale social tag event with a festival event on the club groups throughout the day. 


Blurb: Hosted by Old Crescent RFC since 2001, the annual event features tag rugby for all levels from social to elite, live music, and great food. With over 80 teams participating from around the world, the festival has something for everyone. This year's event takes place on Saturday, 13th June with games scheduled in Old Crescent RFC. The weekend starts with the launch party on Friday 12th. The after party takes place Saturday evening in Old Crescent RFC with live music from multiple acts starting at 7.30pm to keep the party going late into the night.




National Tag Championships


Date: Saturday 27th June

Location: Portlaoise RFC

Format: Large-scale, elite standard representative tournament


"Nationals" is Ireland's top domestic tag competition, contested by teams representing Ireland's tag regions across a number of categories. It's a trial for our international sides and confers the coveted title of "National Champions".


The event is invite-only (players must be selected)



Dublin Tag Fest

Date: Saturday 11th July

Location: Terenure College School

Format: Large-scale, social- and beginner-friendly mixed event


Blurb: The tournament takes place in Terenure College’s magnificent rugby facility once again, with food, entertainment and loads of teams on site to cap Dublin’s biggest tag event. 






County Championship

Date: Saturday 8th August

Location: University College Dublin

Format: Individual sign-up


This event is for you to play for your county of origin - or, if you're not from Ireland, the county you have the closest association to! University College Dublin will play host to the 24-team County Championships on Saturday 8th August. The event will run over three categories: Senior, Intermediate and Junior. We'll assess each team's experience level and enter you into the correct championship - so there's something on the line for everyone.


Registration launches Friday 6th March



Bundoran Beach Tag

Date: Saturday 12th September

Location: Tullan Strand, Bundoran

Format: Mixed social blitz, on the beach


Our tag event will take place on Tullan Strand in Bundoran on Saturday 12th September, following the success of the 2025 tournament. We're running a massive tournament on the Saturday, with a dedicated after-party and a serious weekend of tag and surfing. This year's event has a 1000 EUR prize fund for teams and individuals that impress. The tournament is open to teams of all levels, and will run like Pig N' Porter - i.e. we will grade your team based on who signs up.
