The Irish Tag Rugby Association is delighted to report that Ireland's representative sides in the recent 2023 ITF Tag World Cup in Limerick took home an historic eight medals (3 silver, 5 bronze) overall.
Ireland's medals were:
Silver: Men's 30s, Women's 35s, Men's 40s
Bronze: Women's 30s, Mixed Open, Men's 50s, Men's 60s, Mixed Senior
All 12 Irish sides placed within the top 4 teams in their grade, with Women's Open and Men's Open narrowly losing out in bronze medal play-off games to New Zealand Exiles and Great Britain respectively.
Having claimed three medals in 2018 and none in its inaugural World Cup in 2015, eight medals represents an extraordinary achievement on behalf of the players, coaches, and management of Team Ireland.
11 of 13 categories were won by the Australian Tagaroos, with Great Britain and ITF Alliance taking gold in Women's 30s and Mixed 21s respectively.
