Irish Tag Rugby Association Announces Hygiene Hub as New Charity Partner
Partnership will bring players, teams and venues together to support people and families experiencing hygiene poverty
The Irish Tag Rugby Association (ITRA) is proud to announce Hygiene Hub as its new charity partner, launching a community-focused partnership that will support fundraising, awareness and practical action across ITRA’s network of players, teams and venues.
At the heart of the partnership is a shared belief in inclusion, dignity and the power of communities to support one another.
ITRA will work with Hygiene Hub to raise funds, increase awareness of hygiene poverty and create meaningful opportunities for the tag rugby community to get involved. Activities will include fundraising initiatives, awareness campaigns and venue-based engagement designed to make participation easy and accessible.
Hygiene Hub is a registered charity working to distribute essential hygiene and personal care products directly to those who need them most. Their mission is to not only meet the immediate needs, but to also advocate for long-term change by working towards hygiene poverty being recognised, understood and addressed.
Since launching in 2020, Hygiene Hub has become a recognised charity that supports thousands of individuals and families with access to essential hygiene products through collaboration with a wide range of frontline services, including local charities, family resource centres, homeless services and schools.

“We are delighted to partner with Hygiene Hub and to give our players, teams and venues the opportunity to support an important cause in a practical and positive way. We are excited by the possibilities and how we can bring Hygiene Hub’s mission to our network of players, venues, and the broader communities in which we work.
The partnership will encourage ITRA venues and local tag rugby communities to take part in fundraising and awareness activities throughout the season. It will also help connect Hygiene Hub with new supporters in communities across the country.

Both organisations will work together to develop a programme of activities that brings the partnership to life at national and local level.

This September, Hygiene Hub is inviting people across Ireland to Hike for Hygiene as part of National Hygiene Week - and we'd love to see the Irish tag rugby community get involved!
There are two ways to take part:
Join Hygiene Hub in the Dublin Mountains, 20th September
Come along and hike with the Hygiene Hub community as we take on a scenic route through the Dublin Mountains. It’s a great chance to get outdoors, meet other supporters and raise funds to help tackle hygiene poverty in Ireland.
Organise your own Hike for Hygiene
Prefer to stay local? Get your tag rugby team, club, friends or family together and organise your own hike wherever you are in Ireland. Pick your route, choose your team and get walking!
And there's something in it for your team too.. the team that raises the most will have their entry fee for their next competition waived!
Every euro raised helps Hygiene Hub provide essential hygiene products to people experiencing hygiene poverty across Ireland.

About Hygiene Hub
Hygiene Hub started with a question posed to several inner-city Dublin charities - “Would donations of hygiene items be helpful?” The response was overwhelmingly “Yes!” So, Ciára Dalton, Rosie McDonagh and Sorcha Killian started working together to collect hygiene items, and the Hygiene Hub was born. Since 2020, the handful of volunteers have grown into a national charity, having donated over 130,000kg of essential hygiene products to over 200 Community Partners.
